Aida Music in Japan designs and manufactures the most incredible products for brass players. Introduced to me by Jim Pugh, the Aida TB98 is the most versatile, compact, lightweight, and durable stand available. From alto to bass, a spacious stage or tight theater pit, this stand will serve one well. Easy to travel with and fits in any carry, duffle, backpack or mute bag.
Weight: 791g, 27.9 oz.
Folded size: 465 x 77mm, 18.25 x 3.00″
Years back during a NYC Brass Conference at the “Light House”, Jim Pugh invited me to one of his rehearsals. After the rehearsal we left together and got an elevator to exit the building. Sticking out of Jim’s carry bag was this little black stand. I asked, “what is this” and he pulled out the smallest trombone stand ever.
Later that night I received an email from Jim with info. A few weeks later I received an Aida TB98 from Japan,
A decade later…. From the jazz clubs of NYC, ie Dizzy’s Club, Blue Note, Carnegie Club, Swing 46, Merkin Concert Hall, the Broadway Theaters, Aretha Franklin, numerous recordings, club dates, and rehearsals, I am still using the same Aida stand….strong, durable, and reliable.
A must for all trombone players.
